JOB TITLE: BARTENDER
REPORTS TO: General Manager / Senior Management HAS REPORTING: N/A
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Under general supervision, responsible for the overall efficient and profitable operation of the restaurant Bar and Lounges. Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be 21 years old. Must have at least 1 year of bartender experience. Mandatory alcohol awareness certification. Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Must be able to attend all regularly scheduled meetings. Must very enthusiastically support the theme of the restaurant.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1) Keeps the entire service bar, waiting room area and bar deck area clean.
2) Cleans glasses and equipment.
3) Mixes and serves drinks.
4) Must be qualified to serve food and knowledgeable in specific recipes and menu options.
5) Ensures guest satisfaction.
6) Cleans and sanitizes equipment.
7) Understands and operates bar equipment.
8) Neatly arranges glasses and equipment.
9) Prepares garnishes and all side items.
10) Keeps serving area clean and orderly.
11) Ordering and stocking of all bar items as needed.
12) Opens and closes bar.
13) Stores and serves beverages at proper temperature.
14) Maintains daily records as required.
15) Takes beginning and ending inventories of beer, wine and liquor and completes the necessary paperwork.
16) Informs Dining Room Supervisor or General Manager of any bar supplies needed.
17) Cleans all bar equipment including beer keg coolers daily.
18) Recommends a daily drink special to Management.
19) Calls for a Bus Person to pick up bus pans if necessary.
20) Prepares only drinks which are printed off the bar printer.
21) Never serves an Employee alcohol while on duty.
22) Never serves an under-age Employee or guest alcohol.
23) Never serves an Employee alcohol prior to going on duty.
24) Must adhere by laws regarding the serving of alcohol and recognizing intoxicated guests.
25) Must acquire and maintain T.I.P.S. certification.
26) Knows and follows company policy as outlined in the facility manuals.
27) Recommends and has knowledge of all company properties, company history, and basic employee policy.
28) Understands the dress code and obtains a suitable uniform.
29) Practices correct credit card and check acceptance policies.
30) Knowledge of all company customer service policies.
31) Knowledge and adherence of privacy laws dealing with identity theft.
