JOB TITLE:  HOSTPERSON / GREETER

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Under general supervision, responsible for the efficient seating of guests. Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be 16 years old. Must have an outgoing personality. Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Must be able to attend all regularly scheduled meetings. Must be able to speak clear and concise English. Must very enthusiastically support the theme of the restaurant.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1) Checks hosting schedule and arrival time.
2) Holds short concise meeting with the manager on duty regarding any parties, reservations and/or bus tours which may be scheduled for the evening and to review any problems.
3) Checks with the manager on duty to determine if any changes have been made to seating.
4) Works with the manager on duty to assign Wait Staff on duty to particular seating sections of the restaurant.
5) Maintains awareness of all sections and seating in order to offer superb customer service.
6) Checks to be certain that brochures, matches, toothpicks and mints are fully stocked in the front of the restaurant.
7) Checks rest rooms to be certain that supplies are fully stocked and that extra supplies are available.
8) Ensures that the lobby area, Host area, bathrooms and all waiting areas are clean and neat.
9) Tests the guest paging system to be certain that it works properly. Reports any problems to the manager on duty.
10) Discourages all Employees from hanging around Cashier area, rear wait station or any other area in view of the guests.
11) Greets all guests and ensures all guests are happy and comfortable.
12) Assists in the training of new Hosts / Hostesses / Greeters.
13) Immediately informs manager on duty of any Employee or guest accident or illness.
14) Ensures that menus are clean.
15) Polices the dining room during shift to assist Wait Staff with any needed services.
16) Checks the tables on a daily basis to see that all are presentable and attractive for the guest.
17) Greets every guest as they enter and exit with a smile.
18) Seats every party within two minutes of arrival if there is no waiting line.
19) Accommodates all handicapped guests.
20) Effectively communicates with Floorwalker.
21) Ensures guest satisfaction and quality control.
22) Assists in whatever manner is necessary to Waitpersons, Bussers or Manager to have a smooth and efficient closing.
23) Ability to demonstrate familiarity with company history, other Divine Dining Group restaurants, and basic employee policy.
24) Understands the dress code, obtains a suitable uniform and maintains proper appearance standards at all times.
25) Ability to effectively use OpenTable for reservations if applicable.
26) Performs guest call backs if applicable.
27) Complete familiarity with menu in its entirety.
28) Has knowledge of and recommends all company properties.
29) Assists with phone orders, counter, delivery and carryout orders.
30) Knowledge of all company customer service policies.
